Common Strength Student Viewing Guide
This viewing guide is designed to accompany the short documentary Common Strength. The documentary follows Lucy (a farmer from Kenya) who welcomes Colleen (a farmer from Canada) to her home for a week. The film and the guide are appropriate for classroom or home-based learning for students in grades 6 – 12. The guide includes discussion and research questions related to five themes: women’s leadership & empowerment, agriculture, sustainability, citizen & community participation, and global cooperation. It also includes extension activities for geography, math, chemistry and cooking.
