United Church of Canada is supporting the Zimbabwe Council of Churches to implement the Nexus Program for Scaling Up Food Security and Resilience for Post-COVID-19 Recovery and Development as part of a humanitarian and development program.

The project, which will be implemented in Gutu, Bikita, and Chirumanzu districts, responds to multifacteted crises related to drought, hyperinflation, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project will provide in-kind food assistance for the 2021-22 lean season while engaging participants in food-for-assets activities to revive soil and water conservation, provide training on conservation agriculture, provide agricultural inputs, and form or revive Internal Savings and Lending groups.

The project will reach 2,354 people in 450 households.
