Our News

On the television or radio, or perhaps at church or through your social media feeds, we all often catch short stories about emergency hunger situations around the world and the people who are affected by them. Our staff, member agencies and local partners are watching various Hunger Hotspot areas in 2022, including Ethiopia.

We’re closely monitoring the situation in Ethiopia, where an escalating conflict that began in the Tigray region of the country is now spreading and has caused thousands of people to flee. Many have fled across the border into Sudan and many other thousands are still in the country, but are displaced and living far from home.

Through our members Tearfund Canada and Development and Peace, we’ve been responding to the disruption of food access to people just like you who only want to live in peace.

Please pray for the people who are living in Ethiopia, that they would know God’s love and find relief from the hardships they face.
