Forced to Flee Companion Resources
Forced to Flee is an experiential activity for individuals and groups to learn about the experience of people forced to flee their homes. It simulates a ‘family unit’ forced to make difficult decisions during conflict and forced migration, and maintain their supply of food, money, and health while securing their future post-conflict. It presents real-life scenarios and choices, each accompanied by upfront and/or hidden costs. In addition to the individual journey at forcedtoflee.ca, there are several other companion resources available:
Forced to Flee – Original
The original, in-person activity format for small to medium-sized groups of 15-50 people.
Forced to Flee Bible Study
A supplementary Bible study for Forced to Flee
Conflict & Hunger brief
A context analysis and policy response
Welcoming the Stranger
A worship resource for World Refugee Day
Facilitator Training
Would you like to be trained in how to lead an interactive Forced to Flee event with a large audience? Our new tool is designed for the online platform Kahoot, and includes an easy, step-by-step guide which is intended for use by facilitators of the Kahoot-based version of Forced to Flee. This version includes small group discussion and reflection times. It is fully scripted and designed for large audiences, with a single facilitator narrating and guiding the session. Settings where this adaptation of Forced to Flee may be appropriate include school assemblies or conferences, church congregations, or other large group gatherings for groups of 50 people up to 5,000 people. Email us at forcedtoflee@foodgrainsbank.ca to request training.
Request a Speaker
You can contact us to help you host a Forced to Flee event, and/or provide a speaker in your region, to talk about development and humanitarian assistance support provided to refugees and internally displaced people in fragile contexts around the world, through the members and local partners of the Foodgrains Bank.
Please email us at forcedtoflee@foodgrainsbank.ca to inquire about guest speakers. Please allow 5 business days for a reply.
