Conservation Agriculture Newsletter

In 2014, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank network pioneered a Conservation Agriculture Capacity Development Program to address the limited coordination and learning between Foodgrains Bank members and partners implementing Conservation Agriculture (CA) in Sub-Saharan Africa. This program has been supported financially by The United Church of Canada, Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and the Foodgrains Bank.

Services to Foodgrains Bank members and partners have included on-site training, facilitation of exchange visits and annual networking events, and information sharing with stakeholders outside of the Foodgrains Bank network. By 2018, these efforts had helped contribute to a doubling in the average CA plot size and number of farmers involved in CA-focused projects within the Foodgrains Bank network.

This newsletter is intended to help communicate the many lessons we have learned through this process.
