Working together to end hunger

Last year, we provided assistance to 974,683 people in 35 countries. This included emergency food access for 333,922 people in crises such as war, earthquakes, and floods. And 523,127 people received long-term support to produce their own food in the midst of erratic weather. The work we do is about supporting individuals like Americh, pictured above on her thriving farm in southern Ethiopia.

Who we are:

Canadian Foodgrains Bank is made up of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working together to end global hunger. Since 1983, we have come together in the belief that everyone is made in the image of God and it is God’s desire that no one should go hungry.

How do we do it?

These members partner with trusted locally-based organizations in developing countries to meet emergency food needs and achieve long-term solutions to hunger.

Working with local partners means they have an understanding of the communities, the culture, and the context, increasing the impact of our programs. These partners work to serve the most vulnerable people in their communities.

For the sixth year straight, Canadian Foodgrains Bank has been awarded Top 10 Impact Charity status by Charity Intelligence.
