Nature+ Program

Does Climate Change Lead to Hunger?

It doesn’t have to.

The Nature+ program works to restore landscapes. Why? To revitalize food systems and build more resilient communities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. These countries are home to natural landscapes that are rich in biodiversity but are greatly threatened by increasing land degradation.

With your support, we can help farmers and their families overcome the challenges of biodiversity loss, unhealthy soils, and poverty. Your contribution will help us train women and men to implement various nature-based solutions, such as conservation agriculture, improved water management, and integrated crop and livestock systems.

Can food grow here?

These photos are where we’re working. See the devastated landscapes. Imagine farming here. (Click on the photos to read the captions).

Your donation will not only change the way these landscapes look, they’ll help improve the livelihood of the people who live here.

    Who we are

Canadian Foodgrains Bank is made up of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working together to end global hunger. Since 1983, we have come together in the belief that everyone is made in the image of God and it is God’s desire that no one should go hungry.

    How do we do it?

These members partner with trusted locally-based organizations in developing countries to meet emergency food needs and achieve long-term solutions to hunger.

Working with local partners means they have an understanding of the communities, the culture, and the context, increasing the impact of our programs. These partners work to serve the most vulnerable people in their communities.
