Networking and Learning Event in Red Deer

Join us in Red Deer, AB for a fall networking and learning event for Canadian Foodgrains Bank volunteers, member staff and those of you who have been involved with us or participated in public engagement programs like Learning Tours, Hunger on the Hill, or growing projects. This will be a meaningful day to reconnect, learn, and take purposeful steps toward ending global hunger by learning more about our current public engagement activities and advocacy opportunities.

Hosted by Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Shepherd Tipo Telwia will be joining us from the Church of Uganda to give a keynote address. This gathering will explore how aid is making a real difference in communities around the world. You’ll hear inspiring stories, gain fresh insights, and discover ways to engage others in the mission to end global hunger.

Please RSVP using the form below. The deadline to register is October 15th.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served at 9:00am. Lunch will be provided.

Shepherd Tipo
Keynote Speaker: Shepherd Tipo Telwia is from Northern Uganda. Shepherd is a Project Coordinator with the Church of Uganda – Nebbi Diocese. She has worked with World Renew and Canadian Foodgrains Bank funded programs where she facilitated trainings to empower women and build harmony in households. Through these programs, the lives of many families have been transformed: violence against the most vulnerable has reduced in communities, women and men are more open to task sharing within households, and women are playing more significant roles in household decision making. She was also very involved in facilitating self-help groups like Village Savings and Loans programs, where women were equipped with financial management and problem-solving skills.

Shepherd holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, is a committed Christian and loves telling stories about the work she is doing to help people live free of hunger.
