Situation in Venezuela:

Two earthquakes within a minute (7.5 and 7.2 magnitude)

Currently 589 people have lost their lives

Nearly 3,000 have been injured
Given the densely populated areas affected by these earthquakes, including Caracas, the numbers are expected to rise exponentially as rescue efforts continue.
Prior to this, 8 million people were already in need of humanitarian assistance in Venezuela. This crisis is worsening an already devastating situation.

Who we are:
Canadian Foodgrains Bank is made up of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working together to end global hunger. Since 1983, we have come together in the belief that everyone is made in the image of God and it is God’s desire that no one should go hungry.
How do we do it?
These members partner with trusted locally-based organizations in developing countries to meet emergency food needs and achieve long-term solutions to hunger.
Working with local partners means they have an understanding of the communities, the culture, and the context, increasing the impact of our programs. These partners work to serve the most vulnerable people in their communities.
