Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Canada is partnering with ADRA Lebanon to provide a food assistance project in the Mount Lebanon Governorate; Matn and Baabda Districts of Lebanon.
Lebanon is facing a deepening economic and food security crisis, significantly worsened by ground invasion by the Israeli Defense Forces in September 2024. The conflict has killed nearly 4,000 people, transformed many neighbourhoods into conflict zones and left civilians in a precarious situation. Recent reports reveal that about 23% of the population—around 1.3 million people—are grappling with high levels of acute food insecurity, and the economic situation is projected to continue to deteriorate.
The project will provide electronic voucher cards for approximately CAD 28 / individual (for up to 6 per household) for five months. The project will reach 4,485 individuals from 980 households.
