Emergency Relief and Development Overseas (ERDO) is supporting its local implementing partner in Taiz Governate, Yemen, with a six-month food assistance project.
Seven million people are currently facing emergency or higher levels of food insecurity due to the compounding effects of an eight-year civil war, food price increases due to the war in Ukraine and inflation on the cost of fuel and other basic goods. This has been further exacerbated by heavy rains and flooding that affected more than 200,000 people in Taiz.
ERDO’s local implementing partner will provide unconditional food assistance for six months. The food basket will contain wheat flour, canned beans, vegetable oil, sugar, and salt. The project plans to reach 6,825 people (1,050 households) with this food assistance.
