World Renew Canada is supporting Food the Hungry Mozambique with a three-month food assistance project in Metuge District, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Ongoing conflict in Cabo Delgado has caused massive displacement, disrupted agricultural activities, and caused food prices to soar. This has led to poor food security outcomes among many but especially internally displaced people (IDPs).
It is estimated that over 127,000 IDPs are located in Metuge District and this number is expected to rise over the coming months.
In response, this project will provide three monthly commodity voucher transfers to vulnerable households that will provide them with rations of maize meal, beans salt and vegetable oil. 7,880 people (1,576 households) have been targeted to receive this assistance.
