Mennonite Central Committee Canada is supporting Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue (FDCD) with a six-month food assistance project in Syria.

The Syrian conflict, now in its 11th year, and national economic crisis continues to displace Syrians from their homes and prevent households from affording basic food items due to soaring food prices. The situation is predicted to become worse due to continued increases in food prices and devaluation of local currency.

This project aims to stabilize household food security by providing 6 monthly food parcels consisting of rice, wheat, pasta, chickpeas, lentils, sugar, salt, tea, tomato paste, and oil.

This assistance will be provided to 6,000 displaced households and vulnerable households hosting those that are displaced (approximately 15,420 people) for the first 4 months and 4,800 households in the following 2 months.
