Emergency Relief and Development Overseas is supporting Child Care Ministries (CCM) with a 10-month humanitarian food assistance and nutrition project in Tsholotsho, North Matebeleland, Zimbabwe.
In Tsholotsho, farmers suffered severe crop losses due to flash flooding. COVID-19 restrictions preventing gatherings and market access have also impacted food sales and access. As a result, households do not have enough food stocks to last long-term threatening children’s nutrition.
In response, this project will provide targeted supplementary food assistance to vulnerable children. CCM will work in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local community to identify children suffering from or at risk of malnutrition and provide corn soya blend + and deworming treatments to improve health and food security.
12,900 children will receive this assistance.
