Adventist Development and Relief Agency Canada (ADRA Canada) is supporting Adventist Development and Relief Agency Venezuela (ADRA Venezuela) with an eight-month humanitarian food assistance project in Marzo, Francisca Duarte, San Félix municipalities in Bolívar, Venezuela.

Economic crisis caused by rapid hyperinflation has resulted in the loss of income-generating opportunities and a general collapse of the country’s infrastructure and public services. As a result, more than 9 million people in Venezuela are food insecure or face malnourishment as they cannot afford enough food. The impacts of COVID-19 restrictions are further compounding the situation. In response, ADRA Venezuela will provide in-kind food assistance to increase immediate food needs and reduce negative coping measures. For six months, households will receive monthly rations of flour, beans, tuna, pasta, oats, oil, sugar and salt.

4,956 people (826 households) will receive this assistance.
