To help families get by, 1,500 households (about 9,000 people) are receiving five months of 50 kilogram rice rations and cash worth $25 CDN through the project.

Households will be provided with a one-time distribution of seed to help with early recovery, re-establish crop production livelihoods, and ensure access to staple food when the food assistance ends. They will also receive an adult female goat.

There are 40  Village Savings and Loans Associations are also being supported as an avenue for women’s empowerment and to strengthen household social safety nets.
