World Renew is supporting ZOA with a seven-month food assistance project helping Venezuelan migrants facing hunger in La Guajira and Arauca departments.
Colombia is hosting nearly two million Venezuelan migrants. Only 43 percent have formal migration status. Without migration status, they cannot access medical services, be legally employed, or start a business. They face high levels of hunger.
In response, this project will provide 1,200 households (about 7,200 people) with five monthly electronic food vouchers they can redeem at local markets. The value of these vouchers will be scaled for the number of people in the household and provide regular access to food items from selected local vendors.
