World Renew is supporting Food for the Hungry Ethiopia with a three-year food assistance and livelihoods project in La Gayint, Tach Gayint and Simada Districts of South Gondar Zone in the Amhara Region.
Hunger in these areas is widespread. HIV/AIDS is also prevalent, impacting children in a number of ways. While some live with the virus themselves, others have lost their primary caregivers or are living with a caregiver whose life is impacted by HIV/AIDS.
This project provides cash to be used for food directly to children and families. It also strengthens opportunities for caregivers to earn a living, helping to end hunger in the longer-term.
Over three-years, project activities will benefit 1,100 families containing an orphaned/vulnerable child (about 4,200 people).
