New representative appointed in Manitoba

Gordon Janzen has been appointed Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s new regional representative for Manitoba.

Gordon Janzen of Winnipeg has been appointed as the new Canadian Foodgrains Bank regional representative for Manitoba. He replaces Harold Penner, who is moving onto another role within the organization.

Most recently, Gordon has worked as Director of Mennonite Church Canada’s Asia, Europe and Middle East programs. He also brings experience in pastoring congregations in Osler, Saskatchewan and Mather, Manitoba.

Gordon grew up in Saskatchewan as well as India where his parents served as medical missionaries for 10 years. He has served internationally with Mennonite Central Committee in India, Lebanon and Egypt.

Gord has an educational background in plant science from the University of Manitoba and several theology degrees.

Gord is a member of Charleswood Mennonite Church, and he and his wife Linda have three daughters.

He began his new role at the Foodgrains Bank in mid-November.
