There are a few elements you should always include, no matter what platform you choose to use:

  • A positive message of support for increasing Canadian aid (This could be more specific, asking of increased aid for agriculture, or increased investments in helping other adapt to the effects of a changing climate, in support of small-scale farmers)
  • Tag an elected official of the Canadian government (Prime Minister: @JustinTrudeau, Minister of International Development: @mclaudebibeau, Minister of Environment and Climate Change: @cathmckenna, and/or Minister of Finance: @Bill_Morneau)
  • Add at least one of these hashtags: #MoreCanada #MoreAidforAg

Did you know that globally, extreme poverty has been cut in half since 1990? At the same time, billions of people have also gained access to basic water and sanitation services! Canadian aid has contributed to positive change for millions of people, especially women and girls, around the world. I’m/we’re proud to live in a country that cares about the world’s most vulnerable people. If you agree, like, share or comment on this post to let @JustinPJTrudeau know! #MoreCanada #MoreAid4Ag @CanadianFoodgrainsBank

Helping people in other countries climb out of poverty contributes to a more stable, prosperous and hopeful world—and this benefits us all. Canada can demonstrate global leadership by increasing the amount we spend on international aid. Right now, we’re falling behind other wealthy countries in our aid spending. The United Kingdom, Norway and Germany all give at least 0.7 percent of their national income. Let’s join our peers and contribute more to helping end global hunger and poverty! @morneau.bill #MoreCanada #MoreAid4Ag @CanadianFoodgrainsBank

Canadian aid is making a difference in the lives of millions of people around the world. Let’s invest more in helping small-scale farmers, particularly women, adapt to changing weather patterns! @mckenna.ottawa #MoreCanada #MoreAid4Ag @CanadianFoodgrainsBank

Instagram

Instagram is a great way to spread awareness and show others what you’re doing to show you care. Include a picture of you holding up an I care postcard, writing a letter to your MP, or spreading awareness to others through a presentation or event.
