Connection to Canadian Foodgrains Bank
When you give, your contribution can be credited to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries account. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries determines how those funds, and any CIDA matching funds, will be used.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries receives requests for food from its overseas partners. Each request is reviewed to ensure the food and support provided will improve the lives of the people receiving the assistance – in both the short and long terms.
Once planning is complete (including details to ensure safe and reliable delivery), Canadian Foodgrains Bank arranges the purchase and shipping of the food. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries often works together with other Foodgrains Bank church members on shipments.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries has been a member of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank since 1988.
The Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is the largest denomination in the Wesleyan-holiness tradition. The Nazarene Compassionate Ministries responds to the call of Christ to go into all the world, witnessing to the Lordship of Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the extension of His kingdom (2 Corinthians 6:1).
The doctrine that distinguishes the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and other Wesleyan denominations from most other Christian denominations is that of entire sanctification. This experience is marked by entire consecration of the believer to do God’s will and is followed by a life of seeking to serve God through service to others. Like salvation, entire sanctification is an act of God’s grace, not of works.
The Nazarene Compassionate Ministries missionary infrastructure is often used by World Relief and similar agencies when they need assistance in getting supplies to people of countries in remote or troubled areas.
