Lent Worship Resources–All who are Thirsty

Lent is a time of reflection and repentance leading up to the celebration of Easter. In many traditions, Lent is a season where people let go of something from their daily life and learn to rely on God more fully.
This year, we are inviting Canadians to focus on water this Lenten season and to think about the connection between water and hunger.
Click here for a lenten worship package that includes prayers, children's activities, worship songs, and other resources to help you and your church community reflect on water and thirst.
This year, World Water Day (March 22nd) occurs during Lent–consider using some of these resources to help you pray, give, and advocate around the use of water in our world.

Lenten Giving Options
"My food is to do what God wants. I must finish the work I was given to do." John 4:34
Lent is a time for personal and collective reflection, prayer, and fasting. It is a time to nurture our spirits, while we experience thirst; a time to practice the discipline of going without.
As you enter into the season of Lent and experience hunger or thirst, we invite you to set aside the value of something you choose to give up, then contribute toward the needs of people in developing countries for whom hunger and thirst are a daily reality.
For just $11, you can provide a month’s worth of food* for one person; that’s like the cost of giving up a cup of coffee each day for a week. For Just $55, you can feed a family of five for the same amount of time.
(*A food ration consists of cereals, pulses and oil; the price includes the cost of food, delivery and field/staff support.)
To make your Lenten donation,
go to our secure online donation page to make a donation for your gift. Tax receipts for any gift over $10 are available.
Thank you for giving the gift of food during the Lenten season!
We invite you to use these additional resources below to help you remember those who are in need this Lenten season.
